Excursions and Forest Day
Once a week, all children who are at least four years old spend the morning in the forest. Here, the children can experience nature with all their senses, discover animals and plants, and strengthen their motor skills through movement.
The forest day offers room for adventure and strengthens the children in their independence as well as their environmental awareness. In addition to experiencing nature, ecological education and mindfulness play a major role. Children learn to move respectfully in nature, to protect the habitat of animals, and to develop sustainable behaviors.
Exploring the forest together also strengthens team spirit, as the children learn to orient themselves in an open environment and to take responsibility for one another.
We regularly go on excursions with all children in the neighborhood and beyond to familiarize the children with their surroundings. This includes visits to museums, farms, libraries, or theaters. These experiences enrich child development and broaden the children's horizons.
Furthermore, with the excursions we promote cultural education and strengthen the children's connection to their immediate environment. They get to know their city as a living space, discover history, art, and science, and thereby develop an awareness of social contexts.
Preparation for School
For children who are transitioning to school, we offer special programs to prepare them for the transition to school. These include playful, mathematical, and linguistic exercises, strengthening social skills, as well as joint projects that promote curiosity and the joy of learning.
We accompany this process closely with the parents and gently prepare the children for their next step. The preschool is aimed at preschool children, but also at all other interested children in the daycare.
Here, we emphasize that learning is not limited only to cognitive skills. Rather, it is about holistic promotion: strengthening personal responsibility, resilience, concentration, and creative thinking are just as important to us as first insights into mathematical and linguistic learning.
